On September 29th, the South Australia Shanghai Chamber of Commerce hosted a roast lamb buffet at Barossa Valley’s prestigious Rongteng Winery to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. This month also marks the Mid-Autumn Festival, a brilliant gem of traditional Chinese culture, which has become a bond of affection for Chinese families around the world. Every Mid-Autumn Festival, wherever they are, Chinese people across the globe look at the moon and send their thoughts and blessings to their hometown and loved ones. As we celebrate the 75th anniversary of our motherland, overseas Chinese have gathered to wish the country prosperity and peace.
The event was organized by the South Australia Shanghai Chamber of Commerce, co-hosted by Rongteng Winery, and supported by the Consulate General of China in South Australia and the South Australian Government. The event was jointly hosted by Keith, CEO of Adelaide Eye, and Annie, General Manager of Australia China Media.
Special guests included Tony Piccolo, Member of Parliament and the Special Representative of the Premier of South Australia, Consul General Li Dong from the Chinese Consulate in Adelaide, Deputy Consul General Pi Lijun, Federal Member of Parliament Louise Miller-Frost, and over a hundred friends from various sectors of South Australia.

The full moon symbolizes the deep affection for the motherland and embodies the pursuit of social harmony by Chinese people worldwide. On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, it is commendable that the South Australia Shanghai Chamber of Commerce has organized overseas Chinese to come together to celebrate the National Day. He also expressed his gratitude for the presence of the Premier’s representative.

To help vulnerable members of society and bring warmth and hope to those in need, the charity organization Compassionate Legacy held a special charity raffle at the event. All funds raised will go towards building a new playground for a school. Every contribution and show of support adds to the joy and growth of these children!
The celebration was a great success.
